When: When the employee is involved in a workplace dispute, has committed a misconduct or has shown slackness in performance. What: A show cause letter is issued by an employer to an employee requiring the employee to provide an explanation (to show cause) why they should not face disciplinary action for an allegation/allegations of misconduct.
